Sidmouth 2022…You were awesome!
What can we say. An absolutely fabulous Silent Live Ceilidh on the Thursday night with
dancers outside the bar as well as in the Marquee with couples dancing together on
different channels, just awesome!
Then to be able to close Sidmouth on the Friday was an absolute treat and we had a cracking night!
Thank you so, so much for being there, the comments afterwards and for buying some
t-shirts.
Can’t wait to see you all in a field somewhere…

Cambridge Folk Festival 2022…oh my!
What an absolutely storming success!
Big Shout out to Rob Ellmore (world music engineer) for making it all work first time, every time!
Thank you Cambridge Folk festival for booking us. We had an awesome time at one of our
favourite festivals and look forward to coming back.
Make sure you put Cambridge in your diary for 2023 lovely people!

About Time…
We are absolutely delighted to announce that we have (once) and shall indeed again be appearing in some fields to help us all throw off those last few years of no festival fun and hopefully over the next year or so we can all get back to the good times we have enjoyed previously. There are new dates on the Gigs page with more to come and we are already talking to Festivals re 2023 as many have fabulously rolled over artists to this year. We hope you are all as excited about the coming summer as we are and look forward to seeing you out there…

Towersey Festival 2019 and The Silent Urban Folk Theory…
Throughout 2018-19 we have been plotting.
We have been choosing, listening and working really hard (but mostly bursting with excitement!) creating a new idea with which to help light the folk fire in younger and non-folk audiences. There was a lot of talking, research, re-working, epic amounts of re-mixing and deliberation, not to mention the huge amount of trust that was given to us by Simon Care and Joe Heap who not once asked to see or listen to what we were finally cooking up after talking about the initial idea but just trusted that we would deliver like we said we would.
So, it was with great pleasure (and more worry than I care to mention) that we (for the first time anywhere) took The Urban Folk Theory’s Live Silent Ceilidh Band versus tracks to Towersey Festival 2019.
It was an absolute, storming success and something we shall all be immensely proud of forever.
There will be pictures and videos as soon as they arrive from the festival.
Thank you for all of your amazing comments after the event and encouragement before it…
A special thank you to Will Allen, Daz Jones, Rob Ellmore and Ben Moss for your excellence under stress!!!
Peace and Love,
UFT and the new font…
We have been searching for our own style of logo and have found it as you all might be aware but we have failed to share the story…
The Font was created by Jim Salter, a family friend for a very long time. He and his family have been in my life for all of it and they have always pushed boundries on anything they have focused on and between them all have created all kinds of inspiring images, pottery and memories.
Mom told us that they were doing I think a pop up shop and she told us about the font he had also been working on. We saw it and simply were blown away as it encompassed all that we were and trying to be. I emailed them and we sorted out the deal and now we have it as our logo and extremely proud of it we are too.
If you want anything Artistic, from letters to the moon then you should talk to them…check out the website www.saltysstudio.com

Lakefest and the heat!
Having been out and about at festivals this year mostly delivering Ceilidhs and the Silent Live Ceilidh, it has been our absolute delight to take our concert set to Lakefest to open the entire proceedings on the Thursday at it’s stunning location at Eastnor Castle.
Fabulous sets from so many artists in what was to be honest, absolutely movement destroying heat!
Top work from the Funky Bunker team on the floating Globe stage (It looked largely like Towersey’s Main stage) and a special thanks to Caitlin Barrett for inviting us back.
A massive well done to the the entire team and volunteer Stewards for keeping it all together in extreme heat!
